DAY 2 NEGOMBO – SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS – HABARANA
Depart Negombo and travel along the bustling Kandy Road past small villages, chaotic towns and roadside carts selling an array of local produce. On arrival in Habarana and check in to the Cinnamon Lodge, an eco-friendly hotel set in 27 acres of wooded gardens. This afternoon travel to nearby Sigiriya Rock Fortress, or Lion Rock, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sights. DAY 3 HABARANA / POLONNARUWA
Explore the ancient royal capital of Polonnaruwa, one of the most beautiful centres in Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage. Discover on foot, or by bicycle (optional - to be paid locally ), the wonderful treasures that remain in the archaeological park including the four beautiful rock-cut Buddha statues at Gal Vihara Temple. Afterwards you have the opportunity to visit a local village house where you can experience first-hand the cooking methods at Priyamale Gedara and enjoy a traditional lunch. Afterwards join a jeep safari in the Minneriya National Park, one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see wild elephants. (B, D)
DAY 4 HABARANA – DAMBULLA – KANDY
Proceed to Kandy, stopping en-route to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Dambulla Cave Temple, the best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. This Buddhist place of worship is thought to date back to the
1st century, and houses the country’s most sacred Buddha images. Also visit Matale Spice Garden where you will have the opportunity to wander this fragrant garden to see the different spices including nutmeg, pepper vines, cloves trees, curry, cinnamon, and the precious cardamom (which grows in the shade of high jungle trees and can only be harvested by hand). On arrival in Kandy check in at Cinnamon Citadel, this hotel is secluded in the mountains and has beautiful views of the river and forested area. Then visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, a complex said to hold the tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. (B, D)

DAY 5 KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA
Your journey today leads you through the scenic high country to Nuwara Eliya. On arrival in Nuwara Eliya, begin your exploration of the city where the colourful chaos of Sri Lanka meets colonial bungalows, well-tended lawns and red telephone boxes. Discover the journey from tree to cup of the world-famous high-grown Ceylon Tea. With your expert guide, walk through a local tea plantation, meet with a Tea plucker and visit the factory to see the processing stage followed by a tea-tasting session. DAY 6 NUWARA ELIYA – YALA NATIONAL PARK
Early this morning depart Nuwara Eliya where you continue onto to Yala National Park, staying at Cinnamon Wild Yala. This unique hotel offers a wild exterior (literally)! Located on the border or Yala National Park by a large lake, with abundant wildlife; crocodiles, boar, deer, monkeys and many species of birds are common in the hotel surrounds with the occasional visit by a leopard and wild elephants. This afternoon enjoy your jeep safari in Yala, the second largest National Park in Sri Lanka and home to a great diversity of wildlife, most famous of which is the leopard.
