AY 1 NEGOMBO
Welcome to Sri Lanka! Your tour commences with an arrival transfer to your hotel in the seaside village of Negombo. Enjoy the comforts of this beautiful property nestled next to the beach and dotted with palm trees. D

DAY 2 NEGOMBO – COLOMBO – GALLE
This morning you will proceed to Colombo. This city has a diverse mix of people, architecture and religion influenced by ancient kingdoms and European settlers – what a great starting point for your Sri Lankan adventure! Explore with your guide the highlights of this wonderful capital which include Pettah Bazaar, Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Gotami Vihara and Hindu Kovil at Slave Island, one of Colombo’s most impressive Hindu Temples.

Afterwards head southwest towards the colonial city of Galle. On arrival you will enjoy a tour of the Heritage listed fort area with its charming laneways, rich trading history and Dutch-colonial buildings. Overnight at the Yara Galle Fort Boutique Hotel, this heritage listed building offers luxurious comforts and it's located in the heart of the famous Dutch Fort. B

DAY 3 GALLE – NUWARA ELIYA
Depart Galle and travel up the misty steep roads to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya, also known as ‘Little England’. Spend an evening in this tea growing region where the colourful chaos of Sri Lanka meets colonial bungalows, well-tended lawns and red telephone boxes. Stay at the famous Grand Hotel, the heritage building is known for its elegant interiors and exceptional hospitality. Take a moment to enjoy their world famous high tea where you can enjoy a selection of small sandwiches washed down with a cup of local brew. BD

DAY 4 NUWARA ELIYA – KANDY
Today you will continue your exploration of hill country and proceed to Kandy. En-route you will stop at a local tea plantation where you will discover how the world-famous high-grown Ceylon Tea makes the journey from tree to cup. On arrival in Kandy check in at the Amaya Hills Hotel which features a spectacular mountain view that can be admired from the outdoor pool or lounge area. In the evening enjoy a Kandyan Dance performance, a colourful spectacle including fire-walkers. BD

DAY 5 KANDY
Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic this morning, a complex said to hold the tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. Enjoy an afternoon free to wander around the city’s lake and explore the local markets. BD

DAY 6 KANDY – PASSIKUDAH
Today you will head east towards the golden sands of Passikudah. Check in at the contemporary Amaya Beach Hotel, only a short walk from a stunning curved beach. BD

DAY 7 PASSIKUDAH
Take the day at leisure to kick back on the beach and enjoy the water or relax under a palm tree. It is also a popular spot for water sports and snorkelling at the shallow fringing reef. BD

DAY 8 PASSIKUDAH – MINNERIYA NATIONAL PARK – DAMBULLA
Proceed towards the famed cultural triangle, stopping en-route at Minneriya National Park which is one of the best places in Sri Lanka to see wild elephants. Continue on to Dambulla to relax at the beautiful Amaya Lake Hotel, set in forested area and overlooking the beautiful Kandalama lake. BD

DAY 9 DAMBULLA / HIRIWADUNNA / SIGIRIYA
This morning you will explore a local village in Hiriwadunna, experience first-hand the cooking methods of a local family and indulge in a local specialty for lunch. Afterwards, visit the nearby Sigiriya Rock Fortress, or Lion Rock, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sights. Take the opportunity to climb to the top of this striking rock with its sheer vertical walls supporting the remnants of an ancient 5th century city. BD

DAY 10 DAMBULLA – ANURADHAPURA
Proceed to Anuradhapura, stopping en-route to visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, Dambulla Cave Temple, the best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. Afterwards visit Anuradhapura a UNESCO world heritage site and Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined city. Its well preserved ruins are considered a sacred place by the Buddhists as it is surrounded by various monasteries. Spend the night at the Palm Garden Village, secluded within beautiful jungle surrounds. BD

DAY 11 ANURADHAPURA – WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK – NEGOMBO
Early this morning you will drive to Wilpattu National Park, a unique water basin with nearly 60 lakes, which attract thousands of water birds and is world renowned for its leopards. Continue past small villages, chaotic towns and roadside carts selling an array of local produce to Negombo. Return to the Suriya Resort where you can enjoy a relaxing evening at the beachfront property. BD

DAY 12 NEGOMBO
Your tour concludes with a departure transfer to the airport. B
