Day 3 Colombo to Wilpattu National Park
After breakfast, depart Colombo and journey north toward Wilpattu National Park, one of Sri Lanka’s most authentic and less-visited wildlife reserves. Known for its unique landscape of natural lakes, or “willus”, Wilpattu offers a quieter, more untouched safari experience compared to other parks.
This afternoon, embark on an exciting jeep safari. As you venture through the park, keep watch for elephants, spotted deer, water buffalo, sloth bears and an array of birdlife. Wilpattu is also one of the best places in Sri Lanka to spot the elusive leopard.

Day 6 Jaffna to Habarana
After breakfast, depart Jaffna and journey south toward Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, the heart of the island’s ancient civilisation. This is a longer travel day, but one that showcases the changing landscapes of Sri Lanka, from the dry northern plains to lush, forested regions. Arrive in Habarana, a peaceful area surrounded by lakes, jungle and wildlife, perfectly located for exploring the ancient cities and UNESCO World Heritage sites nearby.

Day 7 Sigiriya, Village Experience & Polonnaruwa
An early start takes you to the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, one of Sri Lanka’s most remarkable landmarks. Rising dramatically from the surrounding plains, this UNESCO World Heritage site is often referred to as the “Lion Rock”. As you ascend, pass ancient frescoes and mirror walls before reaching the summit, where the ruins of a 5th-century royal palace and sweeping views await. Return to your hotel for breakfast.
Later, experience rural Sri Lankan life in Hiriwadunna. This authentic village experience offers insight into traditional farming practices and local culture, followed by a delicious home-style Sri Lankan lunch. In the afternoon, explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s second medieval capital. Day 8 Habarana to Kandy (via Dambulla & Matale)
